Imbolc, pagan festive day (held on 2nd of February) which celebrates the rebirth of the spring. One of the most common myths connected with natural cycle is story about abducted Persephone (her Roman equivalent was Proserpina), who returns to her mother Demeter from her Underground kingdom during the first spring days.
